Volunteers
We urgently need committed LONG-TERM (at least 4 weeks) Volunteers to live at the Center, who are willing and able to support SCAO and Mr. Samith in the daily Management of the project, attendance of interested visitors and fund raising activities.

WHO ARE WE?
S.C.A.O is a non-profit, non-government organization that provides homecare facilities and English education to disadvantaged children in Cambodia.
WHAT DO WE DO?
Currently 18 children live at a centre where they are cared for by Mr and Mrs Samith and volunteers.
Around 180 children from Boeng Chhouk village (7km from Phnom Penh) attend English classes (taught mostly by volunteers). These are held from Monday to Saturday (8am - 10am, 2pm - 4pm, 5.30pm - 6.30pm and 7pm - 8pm).
We have also just opened a second school located in a village 22km from Phnom Penh. This school caters for over 450 children from a very impoverished area where the opportunity to learn English has never before been available.
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?
Teaching English - The children are very enthusiastic and willing to learn and we are always looking for English speakers to teach classes. With the opening of the new school we have an even greater need for long term volunteers who are willing to teach - no prior teaching experience is necessary.
Bring essential products - Rice, fruit and other foods (but preferably not sweets or candy), hygiene products, english teaching books, notebooks, writing and painting equipment, games, toys, childrens clothing, shoes and bags are just some of the things that are needed around the centre and schools.
Financial donations - Donations are the main source of income for S.C.A.O and are imperative to its survival. Any financial contribution, no matter how small, is much appreciated.
Helping out around the centre - You can play with the kids at the centre, help out in various building projects, design displays, fundraise etc. Anything that benefits the centre is a great help.
HOW TO GET HERE
The centre is located in the village of Boeng Chhouk, 7km north of Phnom Penh and is searchable on googlemaps.
The second school is located in a small village, 22km north of Phnom Penh.

We welcome volunteers for any length of time and providing there is room, we offer accommodation options at the centre and the new school.
